Disco Kitchen Mag

editor, copywriter, visual creative lead

"Disco Kitchen” is a literary magazine with a specific point of view—serious about writing without taking itself too seriously. I serve as the visual creative lead and contributing editor alongside my co-founders, designing every cover, social media, and web graphic while collaborating on website copy, email campaigns, and letters from the editors.

The challenge is making both disciplines feel like one coherent voice, so that the cover and the copy all feel like they came from the same place. Since launching, submissions have tripled, we've been featured on Chill Subs’ “Where to Submit” list, and our social following continues to grow through featured posts and community events. Since the start of 2026, we’ve had over 12k views on Instagram alone.

Newsletter

The first of a quarterly newsletter created to keep our followers and subscribers updated on our community events and upcoming publications. This newsletter also teased our first merch drop.

Merch

Designed stickers to use as promotion, as well as graphics for our first-ever merch release. Worked closely with a Chicago-based merchandiser to design two versions of a corduroy hat to be sold at events and online.
