BUSY, BUT GOOD 02 - AMBERCITA
In the second episode of Busy, But Good we try to keep up with Ambercita, a multi-hyphenate photographer, artist, creator, and film fatale.
Specializing in analog photography, particularly film and tape-recorded images, Ambercita also understands the importance of establishing a digital presence in today’s art world. As she puts it, “I don’t mind putting myself out there. I see the power in having a digital presence.”
Busy, but Good is an award-winning series highlighting artists, creators, and entrepreneurs forging their careers. After shadowing them on a typical work week, we ask what inspires them and what advice they have for others interested in doing it their own way.
BUSY, BUT GOOD 01 - MANNY EDWARDS
Busy, but Good is an ongoing series where we look into the lives of makers, artists, and entrepreneurs in the city of Chicago. First up is Emanuel ‘Manny’ Edwards from the @thegoodyvault , a vintage clothing curator specializing in work wear from the 1920s - 90s.
Drop by his showroom, pop up, or attend one of his hand-mending classes, and it’s easy to see the passion. Manny hand selects and reworks heritage pieces of clothing, giving them new life. In this micro-doc, we learn a little more about his influences and what it means to build a real connection with his clients.
The series highlights individuals paving their own path, often stepping away from conventional careers to embrace a more independent and personal approach to work. We ask what inspires them and what advice they have for others interested in doing it their way.
